A Preview of Graham Fitch’s Performance Workshop
One of the most rewarding aspects of a live performance workshop is that no two sessions are ever quite the same.
Each pianist brings different repertoire, questions and challenges, creating opportunities to explore a wide range of musical and technical ideas. While the exact programme continues to evolve, we’re pleased to share some of the repertoire likely to feature in Graham Fitch’s upcoming workshop on Saturday 4th July:
- Haydn – Andante con variazioni in F minor
- J.S. Bach – Partita No. 1 (Prelude, Sarabande & Gigue)
- Scriabin – Prelude G-flat major No. 13, Op. 11
- Debussy – Rêverie
- Chopin – Nocturne in C-sharp minor
- Debussy – Arabesque No. 1
- Rachmaninoff – Prelude in B-flat major, Op. 23 No. 2 (or No. 6)
What makes a performance workshop so valuable is that the learning extends far beyond the specific pieces being discussed. As Graham works with participants on questions of interpretation, technique, tone, voicing, rhythm and musical character, broader principles naturally emerge that can be applied to a wide range of repertoire.
Many pianists discover that some of their most valuable insights and inspiration come through observation, as musical ideas are explored, demonstrated and refined in real time.

The performance workshop forms part of a full day of events with Graham Fitch, taking place at the 1901 Arts Club in London and online.
